Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy Updated November 2016

Church Cowley St James Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils, staff and parents. We expect all pupils, staff, volunteers and parents to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, E-Safety Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Behaviour and Relationships Policy and Anti-Extremism Policy (please see our Policy Section).

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents and carers first, unless we have reason to believe that this would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are: Steve Dew (Headteacher), Kate Dew (Assistant Headteacher, Inclusion).

Our Deputy safeguarding leads are: Kate Newton (Assistant SENCo) and Debbie Lamb (Home School Link Worker).
